Venture Away UK is excited to be returning to Bournemouth for 2022 and hosting a superb Trad Jazz Weekend @ Highly Rated Hermitage Hotel. This Hotel is right in the heart of Bournemouth opposite the BIC, and has complimentary Car Parking - Spaces permitting. The hotel also has AA Rosette for it's fabulous dining - food and service experience in the Hardy's restaurant.

Following past events at The Royal Bath Hotel, many of our guests have asked for a return of jazz events to Bournemouth with a higher class of hotel and that is exactly what we have provided here with The Hermitage Hotel. Yes the price is higher than all of our other weekends, but this hotel has to be seen to be believed and is of the highest standard yet for one of our weekends. The 2022 Bournemouth Jazz Festival weekend takes place at The Hermitage Hotel on the weekend of Friday 7th October – Monday 10th October 2022.

The Hermitage Hotel has an excellent function room - The Hardy Suite, which we use throughout the weekend for the jazz sessions.

The Hermitage Hotel is set just off Bournemouth seafront and has some of the most panoramic views from some of the bedrooms across the Sea - anywhere in Bournemouth.

The hotel has a mixture of rooms for the weekend (Doubles/Twins/Singles - some with seaviews plus options of a superior room as well) which enables Venture Away UK a maximum audience of 120 persons for the weekend of jazz.

All rooms at the hotel are en-suite, have Colour LCD TV’s, Heating, Hairdryers, iron & ironing board, free wifi, Towels & more. All Venture Away UK breaks are on a Half-Board basis so breakfast & evening meal are included in the price. Choose from a selection of items at breakfast from the hot & cold food menu's including full English breakfasts, & in the evening there is variety of food available with full waiter service at both breakfast & evening meal. The Hermitage Hotel also has lifts to all floors and has a car park at the front of the hotel. Bournemouth train & bus station is just 5 minutes taxi ride away.

Baby Jools & The Jazzaholics

There is never a shortage of fun, excitement and good music when this band takes to the stage - quite simply where do you start, Karl Hird on Reeds, Jim Swinnerton on Double Bass & Band Leader & Loveable rogue Baby Jools on Drums this band is sure to get your feet tapping and some of you up on the dance floor.

The Sussex Jazz Kings

Fronted by the excellent and funny Dave Stradwick - this band from Sussex will be heading to Bournemouth in 2022 - Get those dancing feet ready as they are a very uplifting band that will pack out the dance floor with there full repoitoire of New Orleans Classics.

The Dart Valley Stompers

Another band that always captures the imagination of the audience for the weekend is The Dart Valley Stompers - this band has been appearing at Venture Away Jazz Weekends for many many years. Get ready for a trip down memory lane as Jeremy Huggett the band leader takes you on that tour of New Orleans.

The Eagle Jazz Band

This fabulous band from Nottingham are always a firm favourite with Venture Away Music Weekends fans with there unique style - the band is led by Matt Palmer on Clarinet and Saxophone and is joined on the front line by Peter Brown & Terry Williams on Trombone - watch out for the tape!!

The Pedigree Jazz Band

Venture Away UK is delighted to welcome The Pedigree Jazz Band to Bournemouth in 2022 with there brilliant show "A Tribute to Trad Jazz".

Chris Walker presented a weekly Jazz Programme broadcast by radio stations all over the world for over 30 years. However he is also a very fine musician and was a founder member of the famous Real Ale and Thunder Band, who’s many T.V appearances, included a “Songs of Praise” for the BBC.

A while ago he decided to get back to his roots and recreate the hit tunes of the British “Trad Jazz” boom of the 50’s and 60’s. To do this he formed The Pedigree Jazz Band. In their show “SALUTE TO TRAD JAZZ they play the most popular tunes of the era, such as ‘Midnight in Moscow’, ‘Petite Fleur’, ‘Green Leaves Of Summer’ and many others. The band has proved to be a resounding success, with rave reviews and repeat bookings from nearly everywhere they perform.

Hence they now tour extensively, and if you miss them when they are in your area, you will miss out on a great show.
