2027 Paignton Rock & Roll Weekender

The Lenne Brothers Band

This outstanding band is making a very rare appearance in Paignton in 2027 - Born in Hohenlimburg next to the river Lenne the two brothers Michael and Stefan Koch played over the last 41 years more than 3000 gigs all over Europe.

From the Faroer Islands to Hungary, from Russia to Spain they left a mark with their unmistakable sound on lots of stages. In springtime 2022 they even made it for three gigs to Arizona, USA. Together with Claus Coxx (Upright Bass) and Andreas Kässens (Drums) they present a mixture of Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly, Country, Blues and Skiffle. Some Lennerocker-Classics like „High Class Lady“ and „Boogie Woogie Queen“ are on the setlist as well as their recent LenneBrothers Band scene-hits „Rocking and Trucking“ , „Picking Berrys“ and „Wild West Rockabilly Special“.

The show is completed by selected coversongs from Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Crazy Cavan 'n'the Rhythm Rockers.

We are delighted that the guys have agreed to travel over to the UK to join us at Paignton in 2027!

Hey - Let's Rock & Roll!

We are delighted to welcome back this fabulous band with their charismatic leader Glenn Darren, the Krew Katz are certain to get you on your feet dancing the night away. This quality Rock & Roll band from Derbyshire is known and loved by many.

Who else would open the weekend? The brilliant Lord Glenn Darren will take to the stage with the Krew Katz and perform a great selection of songs including Johnny Be Good, Move it & Roll on (Clickety Clack). Glenn will be with us for the whole weekend as well as your compere.

Joining Glenn on stage will of course be Flat Cap Dave, Andy on drums and Glenn’s daughter Laura.

The Firebirds

A True 3 piece Rock & Roll band - one of the most recognised bands in the UK today with Jim Plummer leading the band alongside the brilliant Richie on the Bass - we are delighted to welcome this band to Paignton in 2027 following rave reviews at our Blackpool & Skegness events.

Always a pleasure to have this band join us at Venture Away Music Weekends, they bring a greatv vibe and are one of our favourite bands.

The Kingcats

The Kingcats, are a 4 piece Rock ‘n’ Roll band of dedicated musicians, travelling throughout the UK. Led by the brilliant Bill Crittenden - this band is sure to pack out the Dance Floor.

Having played in many of the top rock ‘n’ roll locations, the band members have played on the rockin’ 50’s scene for many years.

If you are yet to see this band then you are missing out big time!

Darrel Higham & The Enforcers

Well what can we say - other than we simply love this band! A great show at Paignton in 2025 and they are returning in 2027.

Darrel & The band are appearing on Friday Night at Paignton in 2027.
In 1992 he spent 6 months living in the USA; touring and recording with Eddie Cochran’s original backing band, The Kelly Four. His first solo album was released in 1995 on Nervous Records, entitled Mobile Corrosion. Higham played lead guitar in the West End production of Elvis: The Musical in 1996. He co-wrote the first biography on his musical hero, Eddie Cochran for Mainstream Publishing in 2000.
Along with solo albums and records released with his Rockabilly band, The Enforcers, throughout the 90s and 00s, Higham also played lead guitar and produced many other artists. He co-owns Embassy Studio in Hampshire and oversees a great many sessions there. In 2007, Higham started work with Stray Cats drummer, Slim Jim Phantom. Together they recorded 2 albums and toured Europe, even making an appearance on BBC’s Later With Jools in 2012.In 2011 he shared the lead vocal duties with Imelda May on the Jeff Beck DVD and subsequent CD, A Rock 'n' Roll Party.

He has played guitar for Robert Plant, Jools Holland, Imelda May, Sharon Shannon, Shakin’ Stevens, Jeff Beck, Billy Lee Riley, Rocky Burnette, Bono, Paul McCartney, to name but a few.Darrel is endorsed by Gretsch guitars, Peavey amplifiers and TV Jones pick-ups. Darrel also helped design The Rockingham semi-acoustic guitar for Peavey.

Joining Darrel onstage will be his regular bass player, Adam Miles. Adam has played in the band since the early 2000's and has played on the CDs, Monochrome Dream, Bop Machine and Rocky Burnette's Rockabilly Boogie. Adam plays upright and bass guitar. He previously played in The Baltimores and has worked alongside Darrel with Slim Jim Phantom, playing bass on the latest Katmen CD, Katmen Are Back. Drummer Tony Hillebrandt has worked with many Rock n Roll/Rockabilly bands, notably Jack Rabbit Slim. Tony joined the band at the beginning of 2023 and has worked in the studio with Darrel on the Danny Reno 'Rockhouse' CD for Foot Tapping Records.

A welcome return to Venture Away Music Weekends for The Bobcats - The Bobcats, a renowned musical ensemble, are masters of transporting audiences back to the golden era of the 1950s, where the intoxicating melodies of Rock & Roll, Rockabilly, Doo Wop, and Jive reigned supreme.

We love this band and we are sure that you the audience do to! The band’s repertoire is a treasure trove of musical gems from the 1950s, carefully curated to embrace the vibrant Rock & Roll scene of that era. From iconic classics to lesser-known gems, The Bobcats breathe new life into timeless tunes, infusing each performance with their own unique flair and style.
